The first ever Welsh Burlesque Festival will be taking place, March 31, 2012.
The Welsh Burlesque Festival will be held in Cardiff and will be a one day event which will celebrate the present and showcase the future of burlesque within Wales.

The Festival is brought to you by Burlesque Cardiff & The BlueStocking Lounge.
In addition to the live shows, the festival aims to be an interactive day in which the audience can participate if they wish via classes and workshops hosted by performers based in Wales or of Welsh origin.
There will also be a number of
burlesque/vintage-related feature stalls.

The festival was created in response to the resurgence of burlesque, both in its classical, comical and contemporary forms and to platform burlesque as a recognised modern art form that encompasses a range of disciplines including dance, drama and theatrical expression.
The festival is geared towards (but not limited by) growing interest and increasing numbers of Welsh audiences and the influx of new burlesque talent in Wales, striving to foster a supportive community of performers, both old and new, within the Welsh burlesque scene, and to enable networking opportunities among performers and promoters across Wales.
The Wales Burlesque Festival aims to promote the art and entertainment that is burlesque, inspire audiences and to encourage the exciting and diverse range of acts and performers that Wales has to offer by bringing a first class event to the Welsh capital.
Performers originating or living in Wales are invited to perform in the live shows which will take the form of a main evening show and a newcomer’s tea time show.
