About the Shows:
Newcomer’s Showcase
The newcomer’s showcase will take place 4-6pm and will be the main feature of The Wales Burlesque Festival’s Tea Time Tease. We are looking for 15 acts, which will be selected for their originality, ability to entertain and to compliment the rest of the acts on the bill to ensure a diverse line-up.
The main show
The main show will take place 7.30-10pm and will be the climax of the Wales Burlesque Festival. All performers will be given equal billing (ie there will be no ‘star’ performer). We are looking for 15 acts, which will be selected for their originality, ability to entertain and to compliment the rest of the acts on the bill to ensure a diverse line-up.
Important Dates:
Registration closing date: 31st January 2012.
Successful performers will be notified by: 29th Febuary 2012
The Wales Burlesque Festival date is: Saturday 31 March, 2012
Publicity
In order to help promote the performer and the festival, established performers must submit a publicity picture and short bio (no more than 75 words, please) along with their application form.
Act information
All acts must be 4 mins long or less.
Acts must not use spillable liquids (water, blood, etc) on stage.
Please list props in the details of your act so we are aware of your stage set-up.
Please list the track you will be using for your performance. This it to eliminate the chances of acts using the same music. You might like to propose a ‘back up’ act in case this should happen.
